This employer is seeking an EXPERIENCED Environmental Field Technicians in Indianapolis, IN to join our winning team. We offer steady work, above average wages with weekly pay and a full benefits package for those with the skills and knowledge to help our clients achieve their goals.
HOURS: Monday-Friday 7am-4: 30pm, some weekend workLOCATION: Indianapolis, IN + travelPAY RATE: $18/hr - $23/hrLarge environmental corporation looking for entry level and experienced (3 years of construction labor experience) candidates. Construction experience and/or Hazwoper (40 hour) certification a plus. This position is in a construction environment, working around heavy equipment. It requires travel to multiple state client locations, working outdoors in all types of weather, lifting 50-100 lbs. Responsible for learning and performing various aspects of field work related to soil excavation/removal; remediation systems installation; demolition; clean construction. Includes site grading; site capping; underground storage tank (UST) removals, emergency response; and chemical mixing operations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*Assist Heavy Equipment Operators in the field with soil excavation/removal; remediation systems installation; demolition; clean construction. Includes site grading; site capping; underground storage tank (UST) removals, emergency response; and chemical mixing operations.
*Laborer - working on equipment when broken down in the field, shoveling soil cuttings, moving filled drums, saw cutting and working with concrete, and heavy lifting.
*Must have a willingness to learn to operate heavy construction equipment to include: skid steer loaders, bull dozers, excavators, front end loaders, backhoes etc.
*Some individuals learn to operate a variety of equipment: explosion meter, Hnu, laser, concrete saw, jackhammer, drum vacuum, pressure washer, generator, trash pump, fusion welder, cutting torches, welding equipment, air knife, compressor, forklift, skid steer and attachments, and mini-excavator.
*Assist in loading trucks and other job preparation activities.
*Mobilize to and from project job sites.
*Setup job, complete load lists, and perform on-site work.
*Verify public and private utility locates have been completed and are appropriately marked before performing any work.
*Perform daily record keeping and reporting of time/hours billed and expenses.
*Work safely and within EFS standards on safety practices; maintain safety as a top jobsite priority; report all incidents and/or near misses.
*Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); some activities performed in Level C PPE with respirator.

Job Requirements

Requirements *Lift 50+ pounds. *Able to read measuring tools. *Able to or learn to operate hand tools and power tools. *Ability to understand and follow directions from Labor Foreman/Field Manager. *Willing to learn and take on new responsibilities. *Willing to travel. *Work outside in all types of weather. *Work 8+ hours per day up to 6 days a week. *Participate in project kick off meetings. *Adhere to all corporate, office, and administrative guidelines and policies. *Maintain an acceptable driving record and follow established vehicle use practices. *Perform work in accordance with established health and safety policies to include site specific requirements. *Complete all training requirements. *Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to include full face respirator (clean shave required). *Report all incidents of injury, property damage, accidental release and near miss. *Maintain a professional appearance. *Promote a positive and cooperative work environment. Bonus Skills *Assist in preparing load list. *Able to interpret utility markings and appropriate protection methods. *Able to manage truck traffic on site. *Ability to understand and perform the following under direct supervision:*Remedial construction techniques to include but not limited to UST closure projects, dig & haul projects, treatment system installations, soil mixing, plant decommissioning and demolition. *Backfill installation and compaction and slope construction. *Benching and shoring requirements, fall protection and confined space entry. *Site controls to include erosion controls, dust mitigation, and site security measures. *Equipment and personnel decontamination procedures. *Traffic control methods. *Operate and calibrate direct read atmosphere testing instruments. *Blueprint/drawing reading. *Elevation and grade control. *HDPE and PVC welding and fusing. *Torch cutting and welding. *Proper rigging and lifting requirements. *Heavy equipment capabilities and safe work practices. *Safe operation of air compressors, pumps and generators.
